What is Mix Snip?
Mix Snip is an iPhone and Mac app for DJs that turns long set recordings into short vertical clips — transition clips, mix breakdowns, stream highlights and more — for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. From the same transitions list you can export the full recording as MP3 for SoundCloud or Mixcloud.
How it works
Three steps — about as long as packing down the booth.
Import the full set
Pull a long recording from Photos or Files. An hour-long session is normal.
Approve the mixes
Mix Snip suggests transitions and song changes. From that same list you can export the whole set as MP3 for SoundCloud or Mixcloud — trim the ends if you want — or confirm clips.
Export 9:16 · 1080p
Vertical mix clips, social-ready. Then you hand them to TikTok, Reels or Shorts.
iPhone and Mac
Two native apps. One login. Chop a set on the laptop after the gig, or on your phone on the way home.
iPhone
Mix Snip for iOS
Import from Photos or Files, trim, strip audio, and run the same editor you use on Mac.
Mac
Mix Snip for macOS
A real Mac app — not the iPhone build in a window. Open long session files from disk, export vertical clips, or save a trimmed MP3 of the whole set.
Built for the booth-to-feed grind
The tools you need after a long set — without rebuilding the night in a generic editor.
Mix-aware splitting
Finds song changes and transitions, then turns one recording into individual mix clips.
Captions that fit the clip
Generate and revise captions per mix so the copy matches the moment.
Song identification
Identify tracks around transitions so you know what you mixed from and into.
Set MP3 for SoundCloud & Mixcloud
Export the whole recording as 192 kbps MP3 from the transitions screen. Trim dead air if you need to. Clip MP3s are still there when you only want one mix.
Themes that match the night
Switch looks — including neon — so the editor feels like your booth.
Mix Snip vs manual editing
Generic editors can do anything. Mix Snip does one job: turn a long mix into postable clips.
Manual / CapCut
Built for every edit
- Scrub long sets and mark transitions by hand
- One project per social post
- Often cloud-first or desktop-heavy

Privacy and control
Your nights stay yours. Three rules Mix Snip does not bend.
On-device
Analysis and export run on your iPhone or Mac. The recording is not uploaded to our servers.
You approve every cut
Suggested splits are candidates only. You decide what becomes a clip.
No auto-post
Mix Snip never publishes for you. You finish the post in TikTok, Reels, Shorts, SoundCloud or Mixcloud.
FAQ
Straight answers before you join the list.
What is Mix Snip?
Mix Snip is an iPhone and Mac app for DJs that turns long set recordings into short vertical clips — transition clips, mix breakdowns, stream highlights and more — ready for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. You approve every cut; nothing auto-posts. You can also export the full set as MP3.
Can I export the whole set as MP3?
Yes. On the transitions screen — and later on the clips list — you can export the full recording as 192 kbps MP3 for SoundCloud, Mixcloud, and other audio hosts. Trim the start and end if you want to cut dead air. Mix Snip does not post the file for you.
Does Mix Snip upload my sets to the cloud?
No. Video analysis and export run on your iPhone or Mac. Your recording stays on that device.
Does it post to TikTok, Reels or Shorts for me?
No. You export the files, then post them yourself — clips in TikTok, Reels or Shorts, and MP3s on SoundCloud, Mixcloud, or wherever you host audio.
How does mix detection work?
Mix Snip looks for song changes and transition points, then suggests split candidates. You confirm what becomes a clip.
Can it handle a 60-minute DJ set?
Yes — that’s the point. Import long session videos and chop them into transition clips, mix breakdowns, highlights and more — however many moments are worth posting.
Is Mix Snip on Android or Windows?
iPhone and Mac (Apple Silicon) only. Not on Android or Windows. Join the waitlist for launch updates.
How do I get updates after I install it?
On iPhone, Mix Snip updates through the App Store like any other app. On Mac you install from this site; later versions will arrive in the app via Check for Updates once that is live. Until then, download the newest Mac build from this page. One Mix Snip account works on both.
Do I need CapCut as well?
Not for the core booth-to-feed flow. If you want heavy effects later, you can still take a Mix Snip export into another editor — but you shouldn’t need to start there.
